Autumn Advisory

I am the Sima Aunty for startup founders. I come into the picture when founders have realised the need for fresh funds. I have been working with startups ranging from HealthTech, EV, EduTech to ESG; some are pre-traction, others are looking at Series A. A common theme across all clients is the realisation that fundraising is a full time job. While most details needed for contacting VCs, angels or networks are available online, the fundraising process goes far beyond creating a list of names and contacts. Investment theses of VC firms or angel investors are much deeper than those stated online, depending on their current exposure, market sentiments & own subjective view.

For instance, while HealthTech is the new FinTech in the Indian context, investors are not only specific about the niche within HealthTech but also the addressable market, e.g. while connected care is a hot space in India, it becomes lesser attractive to a VC focussed on the US markets or one averse to hardware exposure. It not only matters that one raises the right amount but also identifies the right investor to pursue. An exercise very similar to that of matchmaking for arranged Indian weddings. You need to find a partner not only willing to invest but also one that is a right fit. And that’s where I come in.
